Dear Members of the Hobart and William Smith Community,
Thank you for your cooperation and patience with the many changes over the past month. Everyone has been wonderful in following the parking guidance as shown below – Thank you! Some challenges have slowed our progress a little (I’ll share those photos below) and so I must ask for your patience for another week as the walking path through the Medbery south lot remains closed to all traffic; the walking path is now scheduled to be open by Monday 8/18.
As a reminder when you enter the campus from Hamilton street, the first left entrance (Medbery north lot) is for the use of faculty, staff, students and visitors, and the second left entrance (Construction entrance) is reserved for construction and delivery vehicles only. To refuel of Colleges’ vehicles, enter through the construction entrance for this week.
Starting this morning, we are also replacing the sidewalk on the east (lake) side of Pulteney Street from the new construction entrance to Hamilton Street. This work should take a week. One of the two exits across Pulteney Street will be open at all at all times.
The attached graphic indicates circulation.
Below you’ll find a few of the week’s challenges, and I hope to get my next Construction 101 update out this afternoon!
Thank you,
Chris Button
